There’s never a bad time to hear this but I thought the present is even better than usual. While the powers that be, who didn’t see it coming, are telling you they know how to stop the virus and bazookas and bailouts remember:

Lovely! I hope you guys are doing OK? We are in lockdown here in Melbourne. We know you are also in lockdown in Peru. That’s great!! All the evidence is that people staying home is the way to control new infections. Take care of yourselves!! Thinking of you. XXOO
Hi Kristin! We’re doing good, or as good as possible locked in the house with 3 little ones 🙂 The lockdown in Peru is quite stringent but I’m afraid there’s also a big need for testing, temperature checks in places where people do gather and hospital supplies, all of which are considerably lacking imo. I’m concerned, to say the least, about the risk of this thing getting out of control with the limited resources we have here in Peru. Fortunately Peru has virtually no nursing homes but on the other hand there are many families where multiple generations share the same home, which is a risk factor. Only time will tell, for now the epidemic seems to be under control here in Peru but the government is definitely on edge.
Having said all of that, nothing is perfect but when the dust settles I expect most observers will consider Martin Vizcarra Cornejo the best leader this country has seen for a very long time.
